  1. I learned a lot of Billy’s academic and professional career when we worked together at UNC-G, but not of is childhood and family roots in South Africa and then the move to the UK. Very interesting and touching description on the part of BIlly.

  2. I’m a former MFA student of Billy’s . It was wonderful to hear his voice and his sharing of ideas. I graduated with an MFA from UNC-G in 87′ . I had moved down to North Carolina from the Chicago area . After the MFA I started teaching at a high school in Durham , N.C. Billy would have steared me away most likely from a career that would demand so much of my time and energy , however that was my path. I was very fortunate to have crossed paths with the man Billy Lee. I learned about far more than just the subject of art. Fortunately UNC-G offered an opportunity to move in a direction outside of a pre-prescribed or pre- formulated academic plan for developing as an artist. Billy Lee was influential as a person for myself as a young man. Those were great days at UNC-G , not always easy , and i liked that. No one has a better work ethic than Billy Lee.
